Racing report card: A horse going places, a trainer to keep on side and the storyline of the day this Friday
Don't miss Sun Racing's review of the action on Monday, March 4
STAY in the know with our racing report card as we look back at the pick of the day's action.
We've pinpointed a horse going places, a trainer to back blind and a feelgood story from Southwell.
Horse on the up ⭐️
Southwell 3.20 - Good Boy Bobby
At odds of 4-9 you would have expected Nigel Twiston-Davies' useful Novice to bolt up - but you couldn't have helped be impressed by the performance of the six-year-old.
Owned by the Rooney's he looked a horse to follow until his defeat at Ffos Las.
That was on seriously testing ground and after a 113 day break he bounced back to form in style with Sam Twiston-Davies not even having to tickle his ride.
The big races will probably come too soon for him over the next couple of weeks. But it would not be a surprise to see him at the likes of Aintree with stablemate One For Rosie who has the same connections and a very similar profile.
Trainer to keep on side 🕵️♂️
Neil Mulholland has been in stonking form of late and that continued through Monday's action.
The Wiltshire-based handler sent two runners to Fakenham and both delivered the goods under Tom Scudamore.
First, Molliana was a brave winner of a Mares' Handicap Hurdle. Then in the lucky last Niblawi was a cosy winner of a Novices' Hurdle.
