Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Chelmsford, Huntingdon, Wetherby and Newcastle from Tom Bull

Don't miss out on Tom Bull's best bets at all of Thursday's meetings

IT'S always a funny time of year as the Flat season starts to kick in to gear and National Hunt takes a back seat.

The action comes thick and fast on Thursday, and I reckon I've got some gems lined up.

Huntingdon

4.20 Pique Rock - Doesn't have much to beat here, what with his three rivals struggling of late.

Produced a nice performance last time to finish a neck off an in-form rival, and that is the best recent form on offer here.

A 2lb rise leaves him on a good mark and he should have too much firepower here.

Wetherby

2.55 Las Tunas - Won very easily over this course and distance last time out, earning an 8lb rise.

If reproducing that then he's very much the one to beat, particularly as most of his rivals are out of form.

This is the highest mark he's every run off but conditions are ideal and he's the one to beat.

Chelmsford

3.05 Sweet And Dandy - Luke McJannet has done very well with a similar type called Foreign Legion, and this filly almost certainly has more to offer for her shrewd trainer.

Second on her debut here for the yard, she probably would have won had she not dwelt as the stalls opened.

She's been raised 4lb for that but there's surely more to come now she's moved to McJannet's care.

Newcastle

7.30 Sylviacliffs - Remains to be seen how she gets on switched to Tapeta, but on her Southwell romp last time she's the one to aim for here.

As a three-year-old, she receives weight from almost all her rivals - whereas she'd be the one giving weight off her revised mark if this was a handicap.

The race conditions suit her down to the ground and she should win.
