Geordie Shore star Sam Gowland beats rival Marty McKenna with second round submission in Fame MMA main event
SAM GOWLAND won the Geordie Shore grudge match after he submitted Marty McKenna in two rounds.
The reality TV stars had an online feud over Chloe Ferry, a former girlfriend of the pair, which escalated into a main-event fight in Newcastle.
They headlined Fame MMA, a Polish promotion, with the rivals fighting for pride after a fiery build-up.
Gowland started the opening round with a takedown, setting the momentum of the fight.
The ex-Love Island star looked for a choke but McKenna, the heavier of the pair, defended well against the cage and looked to mount his own attack.
As the opening round came to an end the fighting novices looked exhausted with it all to play for in the second.
Again Gowland opened the round with a takedown attempt but an knackered McKenna had no answer to beat off his man.
The ex-Geordie Shore star gave up his back as Gowland locked in a choke, causing his counterpart to tap.
After the win, Gowland said: “I’m over the moon I called first round but in fairness to Marty fair play a lot stronger than I thought.

“Fame MMA, English or Polish person, I’m not bothered, I’ll fight anyone.”
Earlier in the night Gowland's former Love Island partner Georgia Harrison was victorious on points.
