CONOR McGREGOR has hailed Celtic's Green Brigade for their UFC inspired display against Astana last night.
The Hoops all but booked their place in the Champions League group stage last night with a 5-0 thrashing of their Kazakh opponents.
It read: "We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over!” - the words famously uttered by the Irishman after his victory over Diego Brandao in 2014.
McGregor, who faces Floyd Mayweather next weekend in a mouth-watering boxing mega-bout, .
Now, the 29-year-old has thanked the Celtic supporters for their backing as he took to Twitter to praise the display.
He said: "Celtic Football Club STAND UP!!!
"This is what die hard support from your fans looks like! What a sight! What a team! Thank you all!"
Celtic's official Twitter account has since picked up on McGregor's post as they shared it and wished the Notorious well ahead of his blockbuster meeting with Mayweather next weekend.
The club wrote: "Hail hail... Best of luck next week in Vegas!"
