Hamilton is busy preparing for the Brazil Grand Prix in Sao Paulo, but no risk is being taken over his safety
LEWIS HAMILTON will be protected by a ring of steel at this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo.
Hamilton's Mercedes team are ensuring their security measures are watertight tight after a member of their team was robbed at gun point at the race in Mexico.
SunSport revealed that a member of Mercedes staff was held up in traffic on his way from the airport to the team's hotel where we was ambushed by armed robbers.

Merc are staying tight-lipped about their security while sources have since confirmed that other F1 teams have also beefed up protection for their drivers and staff for this weekend's race.

The Brazil Grand Prix takes place near a one of Sao Paulo's most notorious favelas where Jenson Button was ambushed by armed men when leaving the track in 2010.
Button was saved by a quick-thinking specialist driver, however, mechanics at Sauber were robbed of their valuables that year.
Armed police line both sides of the busy street that leads to the track however, teams are taking no chances.
Key personnel will be given specialist drivers in armour-plated cars while all team members will dress in plain clothes to prevent them from being targeted.
Hamilton can see his world crown slip from his grasp if Merc rival Nico Rosberg wins in Interlagos.
However, if Hamilton were to win the Brazilian GP for the first time in his career, he would force the title race to go down to the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
