Mercedes ace Hamilton dreams of designing his own trainers as he prepares for Australian Grand Prix opener

LEWIS HAMILTON begins his bid to win a fourth Formula One world title this weekend when he attempts to clinch victory in the Australian Grand Prix.

Hamilton has already made a blistering impression in Melbourne by being the fasted in practice in his Mercedes as he looks to regain the crown he lost to Nico Rsoberg last year.

And off the track the 32-year-old British ace is so settled in mind the only distraction he has is where to house his growing shoe collection.

Hamilton said: "I'm no chick, but I have a lot of shoes. I have no more space in my apartment.

"I'm pretty sure all my trophies are in storage.

"Yes, there are trainers that have not been touched, but that's the exception not the rule.

"I've never tried to design so I couldn't honestly tell you whether I'll be good at it.

"I do love clothes, though, and it'd be really cool to be able to have my own trainers one day."
