US Bank Stadium opened in 2016 in place of the demolished Metrodome and spreads over 1.75million square feet in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.

It was built by HKS Architects, who previously designed Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium and are working on the new Los Angeles NFL stadium in Inglewood.

Capacity on game day for NFL clashes is 66,655, but that's expandable to 70,000 for events such as the Super Bowl.

The enclosed glass structure means cold weather games are a thing of the past in the freezing north and allows for plenty of natural light.

The imposing sloped roof helps towards the building's sustainability with minimal snow clearing or heating needed.

Two of the biggest bands in the world, U2 and Coldplay, have already graced US Bank Stadium for a gig and Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are booked in to follow later this year.

Chelsea's pre-season clash with AC Milan in the International Champions Cup on August 3, 2016 was one of the very first events to be held at US Bank Stadium.

Minnesota Vikings fans are devastated that their team fell one win short of becoming the first team to ever play in a home Super Bowl when they were thrashed by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.

WHO'S THE GOAT? Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Joe Montana... who is the best NFL quarterback ever?

The Vikings faithful have been rather spoilt by how they watch their team at this new kingdom in the twin cities, and a home Super Bowl proved to be a dream too big.

Fans are at the centre of the action at US Bank Stadium with some getting up close and personal as the players walk through one of the exclusive bars to make their way to the field.
