Rio Olympics 2016: Canadian heptathlete dons striking tan lines as she rivals Jessica Ennis-Hill for gold

CANADIAN athlete Brianne Theisen-Eaton has been working hard ahead of the Rio Olympics - but little preparation went into her tanning schedule.

The track and field athlete, who is Jessica Ennis-Hill's main rival for gold in the heptathlon, donned some unfortunate tan lines as she lined up against the Brit in the 100m hurdles.

Being from Canada, Thiesen-Eaton would not be used to the scorching sun of Brazil but that hasn't held her back from basking in the South American weather.

She will have her eyes set on a medal in Rio but faces stiff competition from British duo Ennis-Hill and Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

After two events, Johnson-Thompson leads the way with 2264 points after breaking a British record in the high jump clearing 1.98m.

Ennis-Hill is in third with 2242 after she began her heptathlon defence with a victory in the 100m hurdles whilst Thiesen-Eaton is currently in fifth with 2151 points.

Next up is the shot put as Ennis-Hill hopes to become the first British female athlete to win back-to-back Olympic titles.
