Rio Olympics 2016: German diver weighs in on green pool farce by saying the building ‘smells like farts’
THERE'S a strange smell in the air surrounding the Olympic diving pool.
Health fears have been raised after the pool turned an odd shade of green and nobody can seem to put their finger on why.
And according to journalist Tom Steinfort, a German diver has weighed in on the situation saying "the whole building smells like fart."
With the area closed off, athletes have been unable to train causing havoc to their preparations ahead of the finals.
Britain's Tom Daley has shared his concerns on Twitter saying "Hopefully that means we haven't been diving in anything too bad the last couple of days!"
A number of athletes and officials have had their say on why the pool has turned green from running ink due to the backboard to people peeing in the deep end.

But officials claim that the diving pool was turned green by algae because of heat and lack of wind.
US swimmer Ryan Lochte, who won gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay, saw his hair turn green from the water.
A Rio spokesman Mario Andrada has tried to put people's fears at ease by promising the water will be back to its usual blue colour. He said: "This was because of heat and a lack of wind. We did all the chemical tests.
"The pool will be blue today."
