The Six Nations Grand Slam stars are now up to SECOND in the world rankings as they leapfrogged their fierce rivals Australia.

After being pinned in their own 22 for most of the second half - Owen Farrell's breakaway try sealed the memorable win as Jones' 100% winning run stretched to eight games.

European and Premiership champion Farrell kicked 18 points to put the Aussies to the sword yet again.

Skirmishes erupted all over the park as things started ugly and stayed that way in a thrilling game of utter pandemonium.

The cut-up pitch at AAMI Park was disgracefully unfit for Test rugby and at the FIRST scrum the turf was ripped up leaving behind a huge crater of mud and sand.

Every set-piece resulted in a massive mole hill either side of the scrum with groundsmen running on to pat down the turf afterwards.

Dirty flanker Michael Hooper even picked up a clump of grass and THREW it into the face of James Haskell at a scrum as things got grubby and gruesome.

Haskell was an absolute tackling and tackling machine again and his performance was matched by gritty prop Mako Vunipola.

Robshaw, who led the side out on his 50th Red Rose cap, sparked a mass brawl when he pulled down scrum-half Nick Phipps with a high tackle around the neck.

Everyone piled in as it flared up and prop Dan Cole had his shirt torn off his back in the middle of the absolute Bodyline chaos.

England then made then inflicted pain on the scoreboard for the Wallabies when Hartley grounded a driving maul after a line-out on the five metre mark.

Copy-cats Australia then did the same with their skipper Moore flopping over and Bernard Foley converted.

Anarchy continued as ref Craig Joubert went to a line-out after Billy Vunipola booted the ball out with the clock signalling time out in another bizarre twist.

England's rock-solid defence then denied the Aussies chipping away at the slim lead as they hammered on the door with a 22-phase play right at the end of the half as the hooter had already gone.

As the two teams marched off the shredded pitch Phipps, Farrell and former Exeter Chiefs second-row Dean Mumm started scrapping as they headed for the tunnel in this lawless battle.

Farrell was again getting stuck in after the break as he barged Bernard Foley to the ground chasing a Ford kick.

But ref Joubert went back and allowed the partly as there Aussie fly-half was punished for blocking him and Farrell nailed the three points.

Superb defence from England's warriors, particularly Maro Itoje when he crunched Toby Smith to deny a try at 13-7 up, never showed signs of creaking.

The Red Rose were battered right from the start of the second half and this was a cyclone they had to weather, not a storm.

When Courtney Lawes broke after heavy pressure from the Wallabies, Jamie George was on hand to hack the ball through and Farrell touched down to win it with the maximum.

The Sarries star then had the final say as his penalty sailed over in the last minute.
