Wimbledon 2016: French Open champion Garbine Muguruza shows her colours for Euro 2016 with Spain shirt ahead of the last-16 tie with Italy
World No2 wears replica Spanish kit and admits she is a Sergio Ramos fan ahead of last-16 clash
FRENCH OPEN champion Garbine Muguruza showed her colours ahead of Spain’s Euro 2016 showdown with Italy on Sunday.
But British No 1 Jo Konta is happy to leave her Hungarian dad to go football crazy.
Muguruza, wearing a Spanish replica shirt, said: “In Spain, if you don't follow football, you're dead. You don't have conversation.
“Everybody is like, ‘Did you see the last goal?’
“I like Sergio Ramos who plays Real Madrid. I like Iniesta.
“I'll just try to be in front of the TV watching.”
But Konta, who was born in Sydney to Hungarian parents, said: “Mum probably couldn't give two hoots.
“But dad was very excited. I'm happy that my dad's excited. I think that's the best way to describe football at home.”
