Russian tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova cuts off her own ponytail mid-match before dramatic win
World number nine later admitted that she had no idea how much hair she was cutting off
RUSSIAN tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova wasn't expected to make many headlines at the WTA Finals.
But the world number nine stunned defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska in a enthralling 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 win - after she cut her own hair.
After winning the first set, Kuznetsova was struggling to deal with Radwanska in the second with the world number three forcing her all over the court.
Instead of regrouping and planning how she would bounce back, Kuznetsova pulled out a pair of scissors and starting chopping at her ponytail.
After the match, she revealed why she turned tennis player to hairdresser.
Kuznetsova said: "It was bothering me a lot.
