Heartwarming moment tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios speaks with youngster with alopecia
NICK KYRGIOS took a moment to speak to a young fan with alopecia after his US Open tennis victory on Thursday.
Signing autographs following his win over Antoine Hoang in the second round, the Aussie star spotted the lad and gave him some supporting words.
Kyrgios, 24, has long been a vocal advocate of supporting people with alopecia.
His brother, Christos, has the autoimmune condition that causes significant hair loss and has spoken widely about life with it.
Seeded No28 at this summer's US Open, the player beat Frenchman Hoang in three sets to match his best-ever run at the tournament.
"New York has a fair few distractions, so I am trying to stay away from that," Kyrgios has said of trying to avoid bringing about his bad boy image while in the States.
And it was after the win he chatted to the youngster.
"Do you have alopecia?" he asked, to the fan's clear happiness. "My brother has that."

Fans online gave Kyrgios his due for the moment, which comes in contrast to his bad boy reputation in the tennis world.
One Twitter user, Ed, wrote: "Say what you want about him, when he plays he entertains. He goes after every shot, tries to create and has every shot in the book. He's also a good guy off court and does a lot for charity."
Another, Vinny, noted: "I suspect that off the court, Nick does more for fan engagement than most other players combined."
