Retired shotstopper wants to be ring-ready for the wrestling company's next German tour in early November 2016

The 34-year-old went to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa but failed to play a single second with Manuel Neuer the first choice.

With Werder Bremen the giant 6ft 4in shotstopper won the German FA and League Cup and finished runner-up in the Bundesliga twice before hanging up his gloves in 2014.

At the start of 2015 he was invited to a one-day workout at the WWE performance centre in Orlando, where impressed WWE trainers and executives.

Triple H, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, then offered Wiese a longer trial and he has now set a target to be ring-ready by November when the company returns to Germany.

Wiese said: “I have been training hard for this, and I am excited for the opportunity.

“No matter what it takes, my goal is to be in that WWE ring this November. I want that match!”

Ex-world champ HHH said: “Tim is tenacious.

“He continues to be very vocal in his desire to prove that he has what it takes, and he has shown tremendous resilience and determination to create an opportunity for himself.

“This is his break to walk his talk. If all goes well in Florida, he will get his chance in the ring.”
