WWE star Cody Rhodes shows off horror torn pectoral tendon with muscle ripping off the BONE at Hell in a Cell

WWE are set to be without another big star this summer with Cody Rhodes suffering a pectoral tendon TEAR.

Current champ Roman Reigns is said to be taking the summer off with a 10-week break from all programmes.

Women's icon Sasha Banks most likely won't be seen for a while either after staging a walkout ahead of a live Monday Night Raw broadcast.

And the legendary John Cena is continuing his work in Hollywood.

But now WWE will be without returning star Rhodes, who suffered a torn right pectoral tendon during a brawl with Seth Rollins last Monday.

Despite the horror injury, Rhodes stepped inside the ring against Rollins at WWE's brutal PPV Hell in a Cell.

The pair put in a five-star match and Rollins turned in a ruthless heel display.

Rollins dug a kendo stick into Rhodes' bruised and injured muscle before smacking him with it.

Former WWE champ Rollins also powerbombed Rhodes through a table which saw the "this is awesome" chants grow louder inside the Allstate Arena.

A sledgehammer also came into play and helped Rhodes win the match.

After the fight, fans were left questioning whether it was safe to let Rhodes compete in the match and who gave the American Dream the all-clear.

But Rhodes insists it was his decision to get inside the ring on Sunday and that he will explain more on Monday's episode of Raw.

He said: "I'm sure I'm gonna explain things a little further tomorrow, I'll be very brief.

"No one convinced me, with a torn pec, to come out here. It was solely my decision.

"You would have to literally kill me from staying away from this ring.

"Ten times out of ten, I would have made the same decision."

Rhodes was already a fan favourite ever since his return at Wrestlemania earlier this year.

But his latest move will only see his fanbase grow with wrestling fans paying tribute to him on social media.
