WWE star Shane McMahon’s most daredevil and OMG moments inside the squared-circle

Last week Shane McMahon was added to Team SmackDown for the huge Raw versus

SmackDown elimination bout at Survivor Series.

That can mean only one thing – something crazy is about to happen.

Though not technically a wrestler, Vince McMahon’s son has proved himself to be one of the WWE’s most fearless performers many times.

To celebrate his return at Survivor Series, we count down some of his most WTF moments.

Triple H, Vince McMahon & Shane McMahon v The Rock, Undertaker & Kane

King of the Ring 2000

A precursor to WrestleMania 32, Undertaker and Shane had the spot of the night in this six-

man tag match for the WWE Championship. ‘Taker – then rocking his “American Badass”

gimmick – grabbed Shane on the top rope, choke-slamming him all the way to the outside

and through the announce table. The Rock went on to pin Vince to win Triple H’s world title

Pure Attitude Era madness.

Shane McMahon v Steve Blackman

Hardcore Championship Match – SummerSlam 2000

The first of Shane’s seriously high daredevil antics, he scaled the SummerSlam set to escape

the “lethal weapon” Steve Blackman. But Blackman followed him, clobbering Shane with a

kendo stick and dropping him 30ft to the floor below. Blackman followed it up with a big

elbow for the win. The moment Shane ‘O’ Man matched the guts of anyone in the WWE

locker room.

Street Fight – WrestleMania X-7

This match is perhaps best remembered for Shane’s “coast-to- coast” dropkick from one side

of the ring to the other, smashing a trash can into his father’s face, but it also features one

of Shane’s best patented elbows drops to the outside. A dramatic and spot-filled match –

which became a battle between WWE and WCW after Shane bought the rival promotion

–remains the greatest moment in the McMahons’ never-ending family feud.

Shane McMahon v Big Show

Last Man Standing match – Backlash 2001

Shane took his big elbow drop to the next level in this weapons-filled brawl against the

world’s largest athlete. With Big Show laid out beneath the PPV set, he took a daring “leap

of faith” to smash Show through the wooden platform below. Then with some help from

former enemy and would-be brother-in- law Shane (sort of) made it to his feet for the win.

Shane McMahon v Kurt Angle

Street Fight – King of the Ring 2001

Shane ‘O’ Mac took a break from jumping off things to be thrown through a sheet of glass.

In a now-infamous spot, Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle attempted to suplex Shane

through the King of Ring set. But the glass didn’t break – instead, Shane landed hard on his

head and neck. Never one to give up, Angle repeated the move, this time smashing Shane

though the glass. One of WWE’s most brutal-looking botches.

Shane McMahon, Booker T & The Dudley Boyz v Chris Jericho, Christian & La Resistance

Tables Match – Raw – October 2003

A forgotten bout from the post-Attitude Era years, but featuring one of Shane’s greatest

coast-to- coast dropkicks. For a supposed non-wrestler his athleticism is impressive, clearing

the whole length of the ring in a single bound. Villainous Frenchman Rene Dupree is on the

receiving end of this one, which connects and hard and cleanly as any other time Shane has

executed this move.

Shane McMahon v Shawn Michaels

Street Fight - Saturday Night’s Main Event – Feb 2006

In the build to Michaels’ big WrestleMania showdown with Vince McMahon (the same feud

that saw Vince and Shane battle the tag team of Michaels and “God”), the chairman’s son

challenged HBK one-on- one. True to form, Shane took a dangerous-looking bump from the

top of the ladder – crashing through two conveniently placed tables below. Another crazy

moment from one of WWE’s most underrated wrestlers (Shane that is, not Michaels).

Shane McMahon v The Undertaker

Hell in a Cell match – WrestleMania 32

Shane had recently returned to WWE after a six-year absence, battling the Undertaker to try

a wrestle control of WWE from his father and sister (we’ve never got to the bottom of why

‘Taker fought for them). After a stiff battle inside the cell, they took the fight outside. Shane

scaled the cage and dropped an elbow from 20ft up. The moment WWE announced the

match, fans knew this spot was coming – it didn’t make it any less heart stopping.
