How to play Cheat

This game goes by a few other names: Bluff, Liar, I Doubt It and b*******.

Deal the full deck; jokers are optional.

The player to the dealer’s left places up to four cards, face down, in a discard pile in the middle.

They must declare the number of cards and their rank (e.g. one queen).

The rank is supposed to be the same for all of the cards placed down.

HOW TO PLAY PRIVATEER RICHES

If the next player believes that the previous player told the truth, it’s their turn.

They place down their cards, which should be either one rank above or below the previous turn (e.g. after one queen, you could place jacks or kings).

However, the whole point is to cheat.

So, you could declare that you’ve put down two cards, but actually attempt to smuggle down four.

Also, if you don’t have a card that’s one rank higher or lower than the previous turn, you’re going to have to lie!

If you suspect someone of cheating, you shout out the chosen word (which is usually the game’s name).

If they are proven to have lied, they have to pick up all of the cards from the centre.

If they are proven innocent, the false accuser has to pick up all of the cards.

The aim of the game is to be the first player to have placed down all of your cards.
