Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker, £149 (was £199)

17

When we tested out the best ice cream makers, the Ninja Creami took the gold medal.

We loved its versatility — it can make milkshakes, smoothie bowls and other frozen desserts as well as ice cream — and that it shortens the ice-cream-making process, which can be a bit tedious when using a traditional ice cream maker.

Its technology is the same as a Pacojet, which is the £5k machine fancy restaurants use to make ice cream.

Of course, it’s not quite as robust as a Pacojet, which is designed to make endless amounts of ice cream during its lifespan, but at £149 in Amazon’s Black Friday sale, it’s the perfect gift for the ice cream enthusiast in your life.

Roomba Combo i5+ Robot Vacuum, £319 (was £649)

17

When we tested it out for our iRobot Roomba i5+ review, we struggled not to become emotionally attached to this little robot vacuum, with its little jingles and tendency to bump into things.

However, it’s also an extremely useful bit of kit to have around the house, especially if you plump for the more expensive i5+, which comes with self-emptying functions; it means that you don’t have to empty the vacuum for months at a time.

The i5+ also comes with mopping functions, which are admittedly a tad underwhelming but nevertheless useful for getting rid of surface-level spills.

Usually, it’s quite a scary investment, with a price tag of £649. However, for Black Friday iRobot has slashed the price dramatically, reducing it to just £319.

These nifty little devices can be attached to keys, slotted inside wallets or stuck onto telly remotes, and eliminate the daily five-minute panic of finding your essentials before you can leave the house.

Of course, if you’re an iOS user you could also get an Airtag, but we like the variety of shapes Tile devices come in, as well as the fact they can be used by Apple and Android users alike.

There are a range of discounts on Tile trackers in Amazon’s Black Friday sale, but the best place to go is Tile’s official website, where you can find a starter pack for £29.24, down from £44.99.

Hexclad 7-Piece Hybrid Stainless Steel Cookware Set, £297.49 (was £439)

17

We tested out Hexclad’s 13-Piece Cookware set for our Hexclad review, and had mixed feelings on it; it’s expensive, and not many people have use for three non-stick saucepans.

When writing about Hexclad’s Black Friday deals, reviews manager Kieran Ahuja, who tested the pans, said he’d opt for the on-sale 7-Piece Set, which comprises three frying pans, three corresponding lids and a wok.

Amazon’s Black Friday deals have lowered the price of the set to just £297.49, a 32% discount on their usual price and the cheapest we’ve seen them since mid-2022.

ProCook Professional X50, £99 (was £149)

17

A good knife is essential for any chef, but many knife sets are overpriced and include blades that aren’t required by most home chefs.

We love ProCook’s Professional X50 Contour Knife Set thanks to its high quality and reasonable price point. Containing five knives, it’s not overkill for most home cooks; there’s a 8-inch chef's knife that can be used for almost everything, a 3.5-inch paring knife for fiddlier jobs, a 5-inch utility knife, a 10-inch carving knife and a 10-inch bread knife.

All of them are comfortable to hold and precise to use, and we’re big fans of the stylish dark grey wood handles.

The X50 set also comes in a modern glass and wood block, which has the dual benefits of looking good on your countertop while allowing you to see which knife you’re grabbing (unlike many wooden knife blocks).

When is Black Friday in the UK?

Black Friday falls on November 29 this year, the day directly after the US Thanksgiving holiday.

Black Friday is a shopping tradition that first started in the US back in the 1960s, before migrating over to the UK around a decade ago.

Each year Black Friday only grows bigger, and it is now considered a global sales event with thousands of participating brands and retailers.

If you've got a favourite brand in mind, there's a good chance you can find all of this year's best UK sales over on our Black Friday hub.

The November sale is a clear rival to the popular UK Boxing Day sales period following Christmas and Amazon Prime Day.

Where to find the best Black Friday deals

We're expecting to see huge discounts across multiple sectors during Black Friday - from tech and beauty to homeware, toys, and more.

Based on previous sales, you can expect to find the best Black Friday deals from major online sellers such as AmazonArgos, , John LewisCurrys, and eBay.

Here are several other retailers and brands worth checking out during November:

As Black Friday lands just before Christmas, it’s the perfect time to get a jumpstart on your shopping and save on gifts and toys.

Head over to our Black Friday toy deals page for this year’s biggest bargains.

You can also take a look at our Tonies Black Friday deals guide if you're on the hunt for even more toys.

When should I start looking for Black Friday deals?

Traditionally Black Friday sales begin at midnight on November 29, however, many retailers now launch their sales weeks in advance.

The best offers are generally only available during the week of Black Friday, so keep your eyes peeled throughout the month.

We'll recommend all the best bargains in our Black Friday guides, so do have a read for inspiration, and remember to bookmark all of your favourite pages.

You can also sign up for retailer newsletters and follow key stores on social media to get important announcements and sale previews.

Most Black Friday sales will come to an end on Cyber Monday, which falls on December 2, 2024.

Cyber Monday is traditionally an online-only sale for retailers to slash prices ahead of the festive season.

Originally just a marketing ploy, the event has now become a final opportunity to pick up savings on coveted items.

How to find the best black friday deals

Black Friday is a great time to purchase a wide range of items across all categories.

But to really understand whether you are getting a good deal, we advise shoppers to check price comparison sites to find the lowest price a product has been recently marked down to.

If you see a deal during Black Friday that's cheaper than the guide price listed on the comparison website, you can be fairly confident you're getting a good saving.

Here are some of our top shopping tips for getting the best deals in this year's biggest sales events:

    • Do your homework - Don't just rush into a purchase on Black Friday itself. Plan what you want to buy and take a look at how items are currently priced so that you know where the big savings are.
    • Shop around - The joy of Black Friday is that all of the retailers are competing to offer you the best deal. Make sure you take advantage of that. Compare and contrast different items or packages, and find the one that suits you.
    • Start early - Keep your eyes peeled for bargains in the run-up to Black Friday; the early bird catches the deal. And if you're waiting for the day itself, set your alarm and start shopping first thing so that you beat the competition.
    • Don't forget the last-minute deals - Alternatively, if you can hold your nerve, you'll find massive savings at the end of Cyber Monday, as retailers offer their final deals. You might find they've saved the best for last.
    • Take advice - That's what we're here for! If in doubt, follow our guidance for the greatest deals and how best to shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and beyond!

When do the best early deals start?

As mentioned above, some of the UK's best Black Friday sales start weeks ahead of the official date.

In reality, Black Friday 2024 will likely span the entire month of November, so don't put off your deal-hunting until the big day itself.

This is a hugely competitive time for retailers, so each year they kick off their sales earlier and earlier in a bid to outdo each other.

Whether you plan to head to your favourite shops or sit on your sofa and browse online, it's best to stay up to date with all the latest deals from key retailers by following this guide.

What Black Friday deals to expect?

Black Friday has become synonymous with tech savings, and shoppers can expect deals from popular brands such as Apple, SamsungFitbit, and more.

If you're after an Echo DotRing Doorbell, or any of Amazon's cheap-and-cheerful smart devices, they'll almost definitely be absurdly cheap.

Big-brand appliances that rarely go on sale will get their moment in the limelight too.

You can also expect incredible savings on other categories such as baby, beauty, and fashion.

And don't go thinking it's just high-spend items that are included in the sale.

During Black Friday, a quick browse on Amazon will throw up all sorts of discounts on everyday products such as dishwasher tablets and boxes of Quality Street.

There’s always a saving to suit your shopping needs!
