Amazon Music is now FREE for everyone if you’re willing to hear ads – how to get the new tier today

AMAZON Music is now free to use in the UK and USA – giving you a thrifty alternative to Spotify and Apple Music.

It gives you access to more than two million songs without having to pay a penny.

Previously, you'd need to pay £7.99 a month for an Amazon prime membership to get Amazon Prime Music.

This is an ad-free option that's still available if you want uninterrupted playback.

But there's now a new option to get access to the same catalogue of music without paying a penny.

However ads will play between songs, just like Spotify's free streaming tier.

Amazon already offers free ad-supported streaming to Amazon Echo customers.

This made it easy to play music using the Alexa digital assistant.

Now anyone can access this same deal on iOS and Android devices.

The same is true for Fire TV products, and through web browsers.

The bad news is that you won't be able to select specific songs to play.

Instead, you'll get access to "thousands of stations" that are based on songs, artists, eras or genres.

You'll also be able to listen to top playlists like 'All Hits' or 'Holiday Favourites'.

Alongside the basic free tier and the ad-free Prime Music, there's also a third higher tier called Amazon Music Unlimited.

This gives you access to an even broader catalogue of music that better competes with Spotify and Apple Music.

It costs £6.99/$7.99 a month for Prime members, or £9.99/$9.99 a month for non-Prime members.

Amazon's new free music streaming service is available in the UK, USA and Germany now.
