YouTube Premium subscribers can claim a FREE Google Nest Mini smart speaker – find out if you’re eligible here

GOOGLE is giving away its Nest Mini smart speakers ahead of Christmas.

Subscribers to certain paid-for Google services have been sent pop-up notifications offering the latest iteration of the £49 gadget for free.

You'll need to be a subscriber to either the ad-free "Premium" version of YouTube or Google's Spotify-style service Google Play Music.

The offer is only available in select regions, including the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, France, Norway, Italy and Sweden, according to .

The Google Nest Mini is an AI-powered speaker along the same lines as Amazon's Echo gadgets.

You can use it to control the lights in your home or ask it questions using the wake word "Okay Google".

Those who are eligible for a free one will receive an email or pop-up notification letting them know how to claim their speaker.

If you're keen to nab a Nest Mini, it may be worth signing up to one of the qualifying Google services now.

YouTube Premium costs just £11.99 a month, while Google Play Music will set you back £9.99 a month.

You can always sign up to one or the other for a month to grab Google's £49 for free, then cancel your membership after a month.

Google has handed out its Nest smart speakers previously.

Spotify subscribers and Google One subscribers got free Home Mini speakers in an offer that run from October to November this year.
