Secret ‘cheap’ version of Samsung’s most powerful phone leaked – and could launch in under two weeks
SAMSUNG is preparing to launch a cheap new version of its most powerful smartphone, according to a new report.
The South Korean tech giant is expected to debut the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite within weeks.
Rumours of a "Lite" version of this year's Galaxy Note 10 have been swirling for months.
And it seems like Samsung is planning to unveil the phone at the Las Vegas CES tech show early next year.
CES 2020 kicks off on January 7 and will see the world's biggest tech firms making major announcements.
The Korea Herald – from Samsung's home turf – that Samsung will show off its top-secret handset at the show.
Samsung first announced the Galaxy Note 10 back in August, to widespread acclaim.
The handset features bleeding-edge specs, including a large 6.8-inch 1440p AMOLED screen, a powerful Exynos 9825 chip and 256GB/512GB of storage.
It also features a triple-lens camera on the back for powerful photography.
According to the Korea Herald, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is designed to directly rival Apple's iPhone 11.
For context, the Galaxy Note 10 starts at £869, while the iPhone 11 costs £729.
It's possible that the new Lite phone could significantly undercut the iPhone 11, but pricing isn't confirmed yet.
The new Lite phone is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display, with an under-screen fingerprint scanner.
It's set to be powered by the Exynos 9810 chip – the same processor in last year's Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9.
And it will reportedly feature 128GB of storage as standard.
