Elon Musk urges world to ‘delete lame Facebook’ in tweets about Zuckerberg ‘controlling info for 2.5billion people’
ELON Musk has called Facebook "lame" and urged users to delete it.
This proclamation came in the form of a tweet as the billionaire responded to Sacha Baron Cohen's stance on Mark Zuckerberg and his company.
Famed actor Cohen is a well-known Facebook critic.
He recently tweeted: "We don’t let 1 person control the water for 2.5 billion people. We don’t let 1 person control electricity for 2.5 billion people.
"Why do we let 1 man control the information seen by 2.5 billion people? Facebook needs to be regulated by governments, not ruled by an emperor!"
Musk appeared to agree with the statement and replied: "#DeleteFacebook It's lame".
Musk's tweet proved very popular and has 58,000 likes so far.
It wasn't unusual for Musk to criticise Facebook in such a blunt way.
He deleted his companies Facebook pages and tweeted that he didn't like the platform in 2018.
Back in 2017, Musk also criticised Zuckerberg's understanding of the future of AI.
The Telsa boss famously described the Facebook CEO's knowledge of artificial intelligence as "limited".
Zuckerberg is far more optimistic about AI than Musk as the latter thinks it could be dangerous in the wrong hands.
What info does Facebook hold on you?
- All the data on your profile - name, age, marital status, where you went to work, and so on.
- Your activity on the site - which posts you like, pages followed, photos shared.
- Its tracker cookies (which most websites use) can even follow you around the internet, so Facebook can also get an idea of the types of websites you like to visit – to serve you more relevant advertisements.
