AMAZON founder Jeff Bezos is stepping down as CEO of the company that once made him the richest man in the world.

As Bezos aims to focus "time and energy" on new ventures away from Amazon, we've compared just how rich he is when lined up with his tech boss rivals.

Musk recently made headlines for surpassing Jeff Bezos to become the richest man in the whole world.

This is all thanks to his huge companies Tesla and SpaceX.

An increase in the share price for electric carmaker Tesla has helped Musk reach the top spot.

At 49-years-old, his net worth is estimated at $208billion (£153billion).

According to the regularly updated , Bezos is now the second richest person in the world.

The 57-year-old American is said have a net worth of $197billion (£145billion).

He founded Amazon in 1994 as an online bookstore that was based in his garage.

Bezos will be stepping down to an executive chairman position at Amazon and a man called Andy Jassy will take his CEO position.

Jassy is currently CEO of Amazon Web Services.

Bill Gates ($134 billion)

Bill Gates used to be well-known as the richest man in the world.

The American business man co-founded Microsoft in 1975.

He's 65 and worth $134billion (£98billion).

Mark Zuckerberg ($101 billion)

Mark Zuckerberg is the chairman, CEO and co-founder of social networking giant Facebook.

Facebook now owns WhatsApp and Instagram too.

While at Harvard, Zuckerberg launched a site called Face Mash, on which students ranked the attractiveness of their classmates.

Harvard shut the site down after its popularity crashed a network and Zuckerberg later apologised saying it was "completely improper".

The following term he began working on an early version of Facebook.

The 36-year-old launched the social network from his dorm room on February 4, 2004 with the help of fellow students.

In 2020, Facebook had over two billion monthly users.

Zuckerberg is currently said to be worth $101billion (£74billion).

Larry Page (89.4 billion)

Larry Page is apparently worth slightly more than the other co-founder of Google.

His net worth is estimated at around $89.4billion (£66billion).

Now age 47, he founded Google with Sergey Brin in 1998.

Computer scientist and Internet entrepreneur Sergey Brin co-founded Google with Larry Page.

He was born in Russia but has US citizenship.

The 47-year-old is worth $86.5 billion (£63billion).

Jack Dorsey ($13.1 billion)

Dorsey is CEO of Twitter, the social media giant which he co-founded.

He's 44 and has an estimated net worth of almost $13.1billion (£10billion).

In other news, influencers have been told not to add misleading filters to social media adverts by the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK.
