Facebook has created a NEW ‘speed dating’ video app called Sparked for 10-minute virtual dates
FACEBOOK is trialling a video call speed dating app called Sparked.
All you need to get started is a Facebook profile and the desire to find a 'kind' date.
The trial website described the app as “video dating with kind people.”
Sparked aims to be free and offers a private, no direct messaging and no swiping experience.
It seems people using the app will be taken through a selection of four minute speed dates.
If you meet someone you like then you can set up a second 10 minute long date to get to know the person more.
This may be because the app is only supposed to be a small experiment for now and can't handle a surge in demand.
Sparked is different from Facebook Dating which has been up and running since 2019.
Facebook's NPE Team is working on Sparked and it's known for experimental apps that don't always end up rolling out.
Dating app fans will have to stay tuned to see whether Sparked goes mainstream.
In other news, Google is bringing out a feature to help Android users avoid collisions when texting and walking.
TikTok has finally created an automatic captions feature.
