Microsoft offering FREE Dell laptops to users if its techies don’t finish Windows 10 upgrades on time
But there's only 10 days left before the deal ends
It is ten days until the Windows 10 free upgrade comes to an end and the tech giant is pulling out all the stops to convince its one billion users to make the change to the new system.
The firm is now offering a FREE 15-inch Dell Inspiron laptop if same-day upgrades in its US and Canadian retail stores aren't completed by the end of the day.
Upgrades are currently free but from July 29, users will be charged £100 to download the software.
The firm has confirmed that devices must be booked in for an upgrade before noon for the offer to apply.
The deal also only applies to a single PC capable of running Windows 10.
Unfortunately the offer only applies in the US and Canada as there are no bricks and mortar Microsoft stores in the UK.
American and Canadian users can take advantage of the deal from today and if you bring in a PC incapable of upgrading to Windows 10, Microsoft could give you $150 credit towards a new laptop.
"Time is running out," announced Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President for Windows and Devices Group.
"The free upgrade offer will end on July 29th and we want to make sure you don’t miss out."
Another bonus for those who have upgraded for free is that you also get the blockbuster update, Windows 10 Anniversary Update, for free when it launches on August 2.
