PlayStation 4 Pro: What is Sony’s latest console, when is it released and much more from the PlayStation Meeting
SONY have finally revealed the PlayStation 4 Pro - a HDR, 4K resolution gaming console.
The tech giants announced the rig will launch on November 10 for £349,99 at a conference in New York, US, today.
The PlayStation 4 Slim was also shown off, a slimmer, slighter version of the current PS4, coming to stores on September 15 for £259.99.
Sony CEO Andrew House said the PS4 Pro will be the most powerful on the market in 2016 and beyond.
A number of games PS4 Pro-ready were also revealed including Fifa 17, Battlefield 1, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mass Effect Andromeda and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
An updated Netflix and YouTube app which is 4K enabled is also in the works.
One huge announcement which went under the radar at the PlayStation Meeting was that an update will be released next week making all current PS4s HDR capable.
One thing the Pro - which has a 4.2TF GPU - will not launch with is a 4K resolution blue-ray player.
The Pro - previously knows as the Neo - also comes with a 1TB hard-drive and THREE additional USB ports - two on the front to connect a VR headset.
Meanwhile it was also said that your PS4 discs will work in the PlayStation 4 Pro, and patches will be coming to increase the graphics of already released games such as Shadows of Mordor.
House said: "Today marks an exciting new milestone for PlayStation as we unveiled the high-end PS4 Pro in the midst of the console lifecycle, catering to gamers who are looking for a heightened PS4 experience.
"By accelerating the innovation cadence at PlayStation, we’re introducing choice in the marketplace, enabling gamers to choose the PS4 model that meets their needs.
"Ultimately, with titles that leverage the potential of PS4 Pro – plus PlayStation VR launching soon – all PS4 owners continue to benefit from having the best place to play."
The Sun will be going hands-on with the Pro today. Come back to our site for all the latest at the PlayStation Meeting.
