While the firmware will come pre-installed on the upcoming iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which hits the shops today, but it can also be downloaded onto older Apple devices by those with older devices.
Here are ten nifty hacks and tips when it comes to using iOS 10.
You can delete the default apps
One of the most welcome features new features featured in iOS10 means that users can finally delete the default Apple apps that come pre-installed on your phone.
In the past apps such as Tips, Apple Music and Apple Watch couldn't be deleted - even if you never used them and didn’t want them.
But now bin those unwanted additions, all you need to do is press and hold on the wanted Apple app and click the small cross in the top left corner.
Simple.
It should be noted that a couple of apps are immune to this still - Find my iPhone and Safari are still locked by Apple.
Change the intensity of the torch
If you own the iPhone 6 or later, which has the 3D Touch feature, you'll now be able to alter the intensity of the flashlight.
iOS 10 means you can choose from either Low light, Medium light or Bright light.
Handy, right?
Left swipe for camera
For iOS 10, Apple has introduced a change when it comes to unlocking your phone. You now need to click the home button to wake the device in order to bring up options to unlock the phone.
You can no longer accessing the camera from the lockscreen by swiping swipe up, as this now gets up the control centre instead.
However, the camera can still be accessed quickly by swiping to the left.
Emojis go automatic
This is a cool one. iOS 10 will automatically highlight keywords as you type - meaning that a single tap can turn these keywords into relevant emojis.
Widgets now use a swipe right
Swiping right now gives you access your own widgets, which can you can then customise by tapping ‘Edit’ at the bottom of the screen.
Once you’ve chosen the widget that you want, you can add it to your home screen by tapping the ‘+’ green icon.
To complete the process, hit the ‘Done’ button in the top right.

Perfect for those with who suffer when it comes to short term memory.
Handwritten iMessages
iMessage has had some major updates when it comes to iOS 10.
It now seems like Apple want to turn people off of using Whatsapp and onto their own messenger service.
The new iMessage comes with a selection of new drawing tools and animation effects – you can but access bubble effects by holding down the send button.
The Tapback feature (carried out by double tapping on a message) lets you react to a friend’s message things like a thumbs up, to let them know you've seen their message without sending them a full notification.
Photo searching
This one is slightly creepy, but also super cool.
The new update has the ability to analyse all your photos for certain items and content using machine learning techniques.
