New Harry Potter game WILL feature familiar faces as release date finally revealed
THE NEW Harry Potter video game WILL feature some familiar faces when it launches later this year despite being set hundreds of years before the majority of characters were even born.
In a 15-minute-long game play reveal, fans got their longest glimpse yet into Hogwarts Legacy, which sends players on a massive magical adventure within the iconic school during the late 1800s.
Though the boy who lived himself doesn't appear, one well known character does.
Nearly Headless Nick is seen helping out, alongside other famed ghosts that roam the corridors of Hogwarts.
Sir Nick - full name Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington - is known for his hanging head, after an accidentally decapitation in the 1400s.
Unfortunately, there's no Dobby but you do have a new house elf called Deek on hand as well.

When is Hogwarts Legacy released?
During a 20-minute presentation hosted by Sony, Warner Bros Games announced that Hogwarts Legacy will finally be released at the end of the year in time for Christmas, after a lengthy delay.
The game appears to be a huge open world not only within the school but also surrounding areas both familiar and new.
That includes the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade Village and even the Hufflepuff common room which has never been seen on screen before.
Players will be able to create their own main character, who mysteriously joins as a late student during the 5th year.
They possess an unusual ability to manipulate ancient powerful magic, as you fight goblins and dark wizards and witches.
After being sorted into a house by the Sorting Hat, you'll attend classes where you learn familiar spells, brew potions and grow magical plants.
New teachers will appear, though viewers couldn't help picking up on one called Professor Figg.
Fans will recognise the name from Mrs Figg, the old woman who secretly watched over Harry Potter as he grew up with the Dursleys on Privet Drive, so Professor Figg is quite likely an ancestor.
What platform is Hogwarts Legacy released on?
Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
In other news, prudish Nasa has admitted it may have to study sex in space if humanity is ever going to make it to other planets.
An ancient mega-landslide deep under the ocean has been uncovered which could cause a massive tsunami with "just a little shake in the wrong place".
