Apple services including Maps, App Store and iCloud go DOWN in major global outage

APPLE suffered a major global outage for more than four hours on Monday after appearing to be hit with server issues.

Thousands of users reported problems with Apple Maps, Apple Music and several of the tech giant's other apps and sites.

It had previously confirmed outages affecting the App Store, Apple Arcade, Apple Business Manager, Apple Music, iCloud, iTunes, Apple TV and more.

The problems seemed to be down to Apple's servers.

Some users received this error message: "A server with a specified hostname could not be found."

If you click on some of the affected services on Apple's System Service page, a message now appears which reads: "Some users were affected.

"Users experienced a problem with this service. We investigated and resolved this issue."

For services like Apple Arcade and iCloud, a new message states: "This service may have been slow or unavailable."

We have reached out to Apple for comment.

Lots of people were complaining about the Apple services being down on Twitter.

Users seemed particularly concerned about Apple Maps being down.
