Urgent warning for all iPhone owners – you need to clean yours NOW for disgusting reason
YOUR phone can be a hotbed for nasty germs hiding on the screen.
Since Covid, some have actually suggested you should probably clean your handset at least once a day.
You may have heard before that smartphones can actually have more bacteria lurking on it than a toilet seat.
But before you rush to give yours a good wipe, there are a few things to be aware of.
Can I use disinfectant to clean my iPhone?
You might think straight alcohol is a good move but this will actually damage it.

Apple says you should only use wipes with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol, 75 percent ethyl alcohol or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to safely clean your device.
You must not use any products with bleach or hydrogen peroxide in it, as these are too strong and could damage the smartphone.
And it goes without saying, it's really not a good idea to submerge your iPhone in any cleaning liquids.
Don't forget, it's also important to unplug all cables and turn off your iPhone before starting.

What cleaning products should I not use to clean my iPhone?
Aside from bleach and hydrogen peroxide products, there are some others that can do more harm than good.
While it's OK to touch your iPhone after using a hand sanitiser gel, it's not recommended to dab the liquid all over your device if it's too strong on the alcohol front.
Similarly, window cleaner and vinegar are both a no-no, as this can destroy the protective coating on the phone.
What sort of cloth should I use to clean my iPhone?
Apple says the best type of cloth should be soft, slightly damp and lint-free.
A lens cloth is a good shout.

If there's some material on your phone, use a soft, lint-free cloth with warm soapy water.
