My genius iPhone trick lets you secretly hang up a call WITHOUT them thinking you’re rude
WE'VE all been in the awkward situation where a call has dragged on too long and you just want to hang up.
Hitting the red end call button would be plain rude.

In an ideal world, the other person is just reasonable and will understand if you simply say enough is enough.
But in reality, some people might find that rude in itself - or they simply might be too imposing for you to even dream of suggesting such a thing.
So, you just sit there, umming away, waiting for them to finish.
A TikToker has revealed a rather sneaky way of ending such calls without giving the game away.

If you just tap the red button, the other person simply sees 'call ended' and might be suspicious.
As shows, there is another way.
If you turn on airplane mode, it'll cut the call out and show a different message instead, she claims.
Rather than displaying "call ended" it'll say "call failed".

This is the sort of message that comes up due to network disruption, like when you go through a tunnel and lose signal.
"It’s the best way to get off an unwanted call," she said.
Some users welcomed the idea, saying: "I have a few people that I would like to do that from time to time."
But not everyone thinks it's a good plan.
