How to get Lensa AI’s viral magic avatars on TikTok
AI-GENERATED avatars are taking off online – could it be TikTok’s turn to adopt something similar?
Avatars have always been a popular way to spruce up your profile with a cartoonised selfie.
But social media consultant Matt Navarra seems to think TikTok is working on its own in-house avatar generator powered by artificial intelligence (AI), following the success of Lensa AI.
In a Twitter thread last week, Navarra explained that users will be required to upload three to 10 photos of themselves into the AI avatar generator.
Tiktokkers will then receive as many as 30 avatars once it has worked its magic.
According to a TikTok spokesperson, the social media platform is "experimenting with a new way to create and share profile pictures" in a handful of regions.

It will reportedly closely resemble the likes of Lensa, and other AI avatar generators, but will be available via the TikTok app.
Lensa went viral late last year as many people used it to create creative portraits of themselves.

- Create an account on Lensa AI. You can either try out a free trial for a week or pay for an annual plan.
- Select the selfies you would like to change.
- When the photos you chose are imported, choose which gender you would like to edit with.
- Choose how many avatars you want to have. You will still have to pay to use the avatars if you are on a free trial.
- Tap 'Purchase.' The app will then generate your AI avatars.
- Tap on your avatars to reveal the final product.
