When is Meta Quest 3 coming out? Release date, price and rumours explained
META has just announced and revealed details for the upcoming next generation VR headset, the Meta Quest 3
Previously known as the Oculus Quest before Facebook’s company name change, Meta Quest headsets are known as some of the best on the market.
It is one of the only wireless VR headsets, and has one of the best screen resolutions for an immersive experience.
Here’s what we know about the next headset in the series, the Meta Quest 3.
Is Meta Quest 3 coming out?
No firm release date has been given for the Meta Quest 3, but we do know that it is coming late 2023.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also announced that a Meta Connect would take place on September 27 with more details about the upcoming headset to be announced.

Meta Quest 2 launched one month after pre-orders launched so we expect Meta Quest 3 to be available late October or early November.
This would also ensure that it would be available to purchase for the holiday season.
How much will be the Meta Quest 3?
The Meta Quest 2 saw a price rise during its life cycle, and the cheapest one is now £399 ($399).
However, following the announcement of the Meta Quest 3, a price drop for these headsets was announced starting from June 4.

This will drop to £299 ($299) in preparation for the next launch.
In contrast, the 128GB Meta Quest 3 will cost $499 (£499) making it more expensive than the Meta Quest 2 at its peak cost.
What to expect from Meta Quest 3?
The Meta Quest 3 will have Meta's highest resolution yet.
As the Quest 2 has a resolution of 1800 x 1920 pixels per eye, it is believed that Quest 3 will be increased to 2064 x 2208 per eye.
The Quest 3 will also reportedly be 40% slimmer than its predecessor for a more comfortable headset.
Nothing else has been officially announced, but it appears that the Meta Quest 3 will be an overall upgrade on the specs of the Meta Quest 2.
