There are quite a fe upcoming games that will compete for the Game of the Year crown.

And it seems the Assassin’s Creed Mirage developers are feeling confident about their chances as the release date has been changed.

Originally set to be released on October 12, 2023, Mirage is now scheduled for an earlier release.

This can be for a number of reasons, though most of these concern having confidence in the game.

More in Assassin's Creed

If the team believes that the quality of the game is already very good, they can bring the date forward.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage recently “went gold”, which means main development on the game is done and it’s ready to be published.

The other reason that release dates are frequently changed is due to scheduling conflicts with other games, but this doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Assassin’s Creed’s new release date is October 5, 2023, which is a week before it was intended to launch.

Baldur’s Gate 3 also brought its release date forward, launching almost a month earlier on PC.

Changing the date from August 31, to August 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 still launched in an amazing state.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently the most highly-rated game of this year, with an astonishing 97 on review aggregate site Metacritic.

With a User Score of 9.2, it has been released to acclaim across the board.
