Steam players rush to buy must-play £55 game trilogy landing in baskets for pennies
STEAM players are just realising they can grab one of the best video game series of the last decade at a steep discount.
Gamers have a few days left to snatch the offer before the trio of games is back at its usual price.
Steam is running a limited-time sale on the post-apocalyptic sci-fi game Metro 2033 Redux and its sequels, Metro Last Light Redux and Metro Exodus.
Metro 2033 and Last Light are offered in their Redux remastered versions, which feature visual and gameplay improvements.
The offer ends on August 28, 2023, so there is some time left to grab the games at the prices listed below.
Metro 2033 Redux is selling for £2.24/$2.99, down 85% from £14.99/$19.99, while its sequel, Metro Last Light Redux is discounted to a mere £1.49/$1.99 (90% off).

Although the games often go on sale, Metro Last Light Redux is at its all-time lowest price right now.
The latest game in the series, 2019’s Metro Exodus is landing in baskets for £4.99/$5.99, down from £24.99/$29.99 (80% off).
The Metro Exodus Expansion Pass, which normally sells for £11.99/$14.99, is now offered for just £2.39/$2.99, also at 80% off.
The Expansion Pass adds two new stories to the latest game, played through the eyes of a new main character.

Called The Two Colonels and Sam's Story, the expansions were released in August 2019 and February 2020.
Instead of buying each game separately, Steam users can purchase the Metro Saga Bundle, which offers another 30% off on top of the already discounted prices.
The bundle features all three games plus the Metro Exodus Expansion Pack for £7.77/$9.76, instead of the £11.11/$13.96, if the titles are purchased separately.
All three games are rated above 80 on review aggregator Metacritic, and the first title in the trilogy has a rating of 90/100.
The Metro trilogy of first-person shooter games is based on the post-apocalyptic novel Metro 2033 by Russian writer Dmitry Glukhovsky.
Players are thrown into the aftermath of a nuclear war in 2033, as survivors in Moscow have taken refuge in the city’s vast Metro system.
You play as Artyom, a survivor who must save his station from the dangers that lurk in the Metro tunnels.
As Artyom, you explore the post-apocalyptic world and encounter both human and mutant enemies, who can be killed with a variety of weapons.
Behind the usual premise of survival horror shooters, the games treat very serious political themes such as the use of misinformation to keep people under control.
As Glukhovsky told The Sun in 2019, his video games and books are intended as a stark warning to young people about the perils of state-sponsored propaganda.
Both his video games and novels have sold well in both Russia and the West.
