Facebook down updates — Meta platform hit with global outage as thousands of users also report Instagram issues

MILLIONS of users were experiencing issues with Meta platforms globally on Tuesday.

Problems with Facebook began at around 10 am ET/3 pm GMT.

Related problems were being reported with Instagram and Facebook Messenger.

Meta has since on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services.

"We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience."

    90% of reports come from users attempting to access the website, rather than the app.

    Those who may be experiencing difficulties with Facebook can check other social media apps, such as X, for reports.

    If you don’t have a X account – or if it isn’t working,  will tell users when the apps are down or experiencing difficulties.

    If it appears the problem may not be widespread, try checking the internet connection on your device or exiting the app before logging back in.

    Over 4,400 have been made in the US alone, as per Downdetector, with hundreds more in other countries.
