While it may seem minor the feature is loved by fans because it helps save their screen from damage.

Not the sort of damage caused by drops - only a strong case and more care can fix that one.

The feature got removed (or forgotten, maybe?) going from 5.1 to 6.0, but thankfully it's back

We're talking about screen burn.

Screen burn is discolouration or ghost images that can appear from elements that are shown frequently, such as a home button.

Samsung users noticed that the feature partially disappeared with the last One UI update - UI 6.

But since One UI 6.1 was released full OLED burn-in protection is back.

It's an automatic tool so you don't need to do anything in the settings to benefit.

"Just got the update for One UI 6.1, and burn-in protection is back!" one user wrote on Reddit.

"The feature got removed (or forgotten, maybe?) going from 5.1 to 6.0, but thankfully it's back."

One UI 6.1 is currently rolling out to selected devices, including Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 devices.
