PlayStation players are just realising that they can claim two of 2024’s biggest games for free

LAST year was one of gaming’s best ever, but this year is shaping up to be just as jam packed with excellent games.

While people love new games they don’t always love the strain on their wallets, which is why gamers have found a great way around it.

If you’re an avid PlayStation gamer you are probably already signed up to the PlayStation Stars programme.

PlayStation Stars earns you points as you play games, and there are many ways your points can stack up.

You can earn them by purchasing games on the PlayStation Store, and by earning trophies on the games you play.

If you’ve already signed up for PlayStation Stars it’s likely that you have accrued a number of points while not even knowing.

One of the best ways you can spend your points is on free games with a new selection of games available every month.

These games can be purchased entirely with PlayStation Stars points and there is no extra cost required.

This month there are some excellent games available via PlayStation Stars’ points, including two blockbusters that launched this year.

Here’s the full list of games available via PlayStation Stars this month:

• Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC – 5k points
• Balatro – 3.75k points
• Helldivers 2 – 10k points *PS5 only
• Minecraft – 5k points
• Rise of the Ronin – 17.5k points *PS5 only

In April PlayStation is offering both old classics like Minecraft and Bloodborne DLC alongside recent hits completely free.

Balatro is a 2024 indie roguelike Poker game that has been taking gamers by storm thanks to its high replayability.

The other huge game on the list is Helldivers 2 which people are still heavily invested in months after launch.

With the live-service model, players are loving the new content updates as they try to liberate different planets.
