SAMSUNG phones have an often-overlooked setting that can make your device feel much faster.
It's buried inside the Developer Settings so you might never see it unless you go looking.
The feature lets you changed the animation speeds for when you navigate your phone.
And many Samsung fans swear by reducing it from the regular 1x speed to make the phone feel faster.
In a post to Reddit, one Samsung owner asked: "Do most people still use 1x speed for animations instead of 0.5x? 1x is so slow that it's driving me crazy."
Another said: "Once you go 0.5x you can never go back to 1x. Even with my new 120Hz phone instead of my previous 60Hz one, it was immediately noticeable and unbearable."
One added: "That's one of the first things I change on a new phone or new rom/OS."
And another wrote: "Always on 0.5x, any phone I've got, 0.5x. I hate 1x. So slow."
HOW TO CHANGE ANIMATION SPEEDS ON ANDROID PHONES
First you'll need to enable developer settings on your Galaxy phone.
Go into Settings > About Phone > Software Information.
Most read in News Tech
Then tap on the Build Number seven times, which will activate Developer Options on your phone.
Then you'll want to go to your Settings > Developer Options > Drawing and then adjust the animation scales.
There should be three to choose from:
- Window animation scale
- Transition animation scale
- Animator duration scale
Try setting all of them to 0.5x from the default 1x option.

OTHER SAMSUNG PERFORMANCE TIPS
Another handy tip is to use the Optimization Cycle feature.
"Give your device a quick boost by running a quick optimisation check," Samsung explained.
"This feature is designed to identify apps that use excessive battery power, clear away redundant items from your device's memory, delete unnecessary files and close apps that are running in the background.
"You can run a one-off cycle manually or set your device to automatically optimise once a day."
