Discussing the technology, he told : "I regard it as a big idea like the smartphone.

"The smartphone is for everyone, we don't have to think the iPhone is about a certain demographic, or country or vertical market: it’s for everyone.

"I think AR is that big, it’s huge."

Smartphone game Pokemon Go has been a huge hit for Nintendo thanks to Augmented Reality.

Here are all the rumoured features of the upcoming iPhone 8

  • High definition OLED screen
  • Wireless charging
  • An 'edge to edge' extra-wide display
  • The physical home button is expected to disappear
  • A more powerful processor
  • It will run the iOS 11 operating system
  • The next iPhone will be waterproof like the iPhone 7
  • It may have an iris scanner instead of a fingerprint scanner

But Cook kept mum on whether the next iPhone - rumoured to cost £900 - will come with augmented features.

But Apple fans will be glad to hear the iPhone 8 will definitely have game-changing wireless charging feature, according to an Apple expert.

Expert claims there will be three different models of iPhone and they will all come with the cool new technology.

Its next model is expected to be a massive change from older gadgets because it is being released to mark the 10th anniversary of the first ever iPhone.

This means it's unlikely to be called the iPhone 8 and may actually be called iPhone X or simply iPhone.

The tech giant is rumoured to be tripling its production of the phone, which suggests it is expecting massive demand.

It's also been claimed the device won’t come with a Lightning port OR a jack for earphones.
