One of 2023’s best games just got even better as 90-rated horror title gets a massive free update
LAST year was one of the best ever in gaming, with huge triple-A goliaths launching every month.
Despite games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, and Resident Evil 4 coming out, an indie game managed to be one of the highest-rated games of the year.
Developed by just a two-person team, Slay the Princess won the hearts of gamers despite being a much smaller title.
Black Tabby Games is returning to Slay the Princess with The Pristine Cut, a definitive edition of the game with new chapters, and a multiplatform release.
In The Pristine Cut, all Chapter 2 Princesses have at least two routes that they can lead to, in the words of the developers, giving a more satisfying ending to these routes.
Another addition to The Pristine Cut is the Memories in the main menu, which allow you to go back and revisit scenes you’ve already seen.

It will also give you hints to open up paths that you haven’t seen before, allowing you to know exactly what you’ve missed.
Slay the Princess has a short playtime, and that’s because it’s made to be replayed.
The Pristine Cut lets you know exactly which paths you’ve missed, giving more reasons to dive back in.
As for the three new chapters, they are some of the best the game has to offer.

Without spoiling the new content, it fits perfectly into the overall narrative, and gives extra insight into different aspects of the game.
New players won’t be able to notice that these chapters have been added, while fans of the game will love the new stories.
Slay the Princess was one of the best games of 2023, and somehow in 2024, it’s become even better.
Not only has Black Tabby Games created an even more impressive version of the game, but The Pristine Cut is a free update for owners of the original.
With the new release on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, even more people will be able to play, and they should jump at the chance.
It’s one of those games that is such a rare gem, I recommend it to everyone.
