PlayStation could be releasing a new Portal alongside other PS5 accessories

The PS5's most popular accessory is about to get more stock

PLAYSTATION’S 30th anniversary is in just a few days, and preparations are ramping up for the big day.

The original PlayStation launched on December 3, 1994, and rumours have been swirling about what PlayStation will do for the big day.

Sony
The PS Portal could have a whole new look

There are rumours that a surprise PlayStation State of Play will take place on December 3, following a sign spotted in a recent PS5 advert.

Now there is a new rumour about hardware that could be revealed on the anniversary.

According to a report by , which has an amazing record for insider information, a new line of PS5 accessories is being prepared to be released.

The PlayStation Portal allows PS5 players to play the console remotely, and recently PlayStation added a new feature that allows PS Plus Premium subscribers to play games from the cloud.

The portable player sold out quickly after launch, and it was difficult to pick one up over the next few months.

Then PlayStation released a 30th anniversary edition with the classic grey PS One colour scheme, and that version sold out immediately.

PlayStation will apparently launch a new version of the PS5 remote player with a black colour scheme.

It’s expected to be the same price and specs as the white PS Portal, and be released in limited quantities.

However, if the black console sells out quickly, PlayStation is expected to restock this version.

It’s believed that other black accessories like the Pulse Elite headset could follow afterwards.

The cheaper Pulse 3D headset already has a black version, introduced back in 2021.

The PlayStation Portal has been a surprise success for the company, which appeared to have left the handheld gaming market behind.

With the success of the PS5 Portable accessory, it is believed that a full PlayStation handheld could be in development.

PS Portable

Since the release of the Nintendo Switch people are beginning to realise just how valuable handheld consoles are.

From the Steam Deck to the PS Portal everyone wants a share in the portable market.

It’s a smart move by Sony to release different editions of the console, as we know gamers love to collect things.
