YOUR VOICE

Gamers have their say in The Game Awards as Players’ Voice voting opens to the public

Players are the only ones that have a saying in this award

THE Game Awards are gaming’s version of The Oscars, and there’s only a week left until the show.

While the public can vote in every category at The Game Awards, there is still a jury that has the final say.

Sony Interactive Entertainment
Astro Bot has been nominated in a huge number of categories

GameScience
Fan favourites like Black Myth: Wukong are expected to do well

Square Enix
Though Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is also hugely popular

However, there is one award that is decided entirely by the public: the Players’ Voice award.

Voting is now open, and there are 30 games that can be voted for in the first round.

You can vote for up to 10 of the 30 games in this round, and the games with the least number of votes will be eliminated before the next round.

Round two of voting for the Players’ Voice award will start on Thursday, December 5, 2024, so you only have a few days to cast your first-round votes.

You can use as many or as few of your 10 votes as you like, but you cannot save any votes for the next round.

When round two begins each person will be given fewer votes, but there will be fewer games to choose from.

There will be three rounds in total and the winner will be announced at The Game Awards on December 12, 2024.

The list doesn’t just include games that were released in 2024, but ongoing games that are still popular.

This is why games like Final Fantasy 14, Genshin Impact and No Man’s Sky are all included on the list.

What’s notable about this category is that it includes games that weren’t nominated for any other awards like Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and Sonic X Shadow Generations.

There are also games missing from the list that were nominated for multiple other awards like Star Wars Outlaws.
