Unlike most other broadcasters it has lacked a full fledged streaming service.

Before now, TPTV Encore was available on web browsers and Freeview's red button only.

But now it has launched on a wider number of gadgets, including the Amazon Fire Stick.

TPTV Encore features a growing library of shows that "will take you back to the good old days of TV and film", the firm says.

There are a number of categories to choose from, including comedy, crime, war and westerns, both in colour and black and white.

Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds are among the well-known titles available to watch.

Others include The Crooked Ring, starring the late James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore.

The platform is available for free with ads or users can pay to watch ad-free.

Viewers can also resume shows from where they left off.

However, the service still doesn't have any option to watch the live channel.
