Elden Ring sequel announced at The Game Awards and it’s coming very soon
WE have only just finished playing the excellent Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and we’re already being promised the next game launch.
While developer FromSoftware heavily denied rumours that a sequel to Elden Ring was in development, it turns out that the rumour mills were kind of right.
It’s not a full sequel to Elden Ring, but more like a spin-off based in the same world.
Elden Ring: Nightreign will have a much stronger emphasis on multiplayer combat, as you team up with up to three others in battle.
From a look at the gameplay in the trailer, it also seems that the combat will be much faster than it was in the original Elden Ring.
At The Game Awards we saw a first look at the gameplay of Elden Ring Nightreign along with a release date of 2025 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
More in The Game Awards
Elden Ring already has PvP and co-op elements that have helped the game thrive thanks to its passionate community.
The Colosseum was a major update for the game, which was very successful with fans.
Others helping out for boss fights is also a popular part of gameplay such as the infamous “Let me solo her” player, who helped hundreds beat Melania.
It’s still interesting to see FromSoftware focusing so heavily on this aspect of the gameplay.

While it’s not a full sequel to Elden Ring, Nightreign will be a robust standalone game in its own right.
