Snapchat update means everyone can see your sexy ‘Stories’ and embarrassing pictures on Our Story
Photo app adds a search function to its Our Story feature
EVER woken up to a sore head, and a really embarrassing Snapchat broadcast that won't disappear from your pals' phones for another 20 hours?
It's about to get worse.
Anyone can search for your embarrassing Snapchats if you've uploaded them to Our Story, thanks to the picture app's new search feature.
One million Stories are now searchable by keyword or location under the new update.
It wrote in a blog post: "We’ve built a new way to understand what’s happening in Snaps that are submitted to Our Story, and to create new Stories using advanced machine learning.
"The results have been amazing: you can search over one million unique Stories on Snapchat!
"In addition to our professionally curated Stories, you can watch a local basketball game, check out the scene at your favourite bar, view your favourite Fashion Week shows, get inspired by a faraway place, or simply tap through a Story full of puppies — there’s a Story for everything!"
It's not clear exactly when this will be rolled out to UK users although it will be rolling out to US cities from this week.
Not that it will stop the likes of Geordie Shore stars Chloe Ferry and Charlotte Crosby, who regularly broadcast their lives using the app.
Chloe recently caused a stir when she Snapchatted an entire cosmetic filler procedure, with pictures of a needle in her face.
Bizarrely, Chloe decided to apply the popular leopard ear filter on top.
To avoid any public embarrassments, make sure you only upload naughty snaps to My Story.
That way only your friends will see them.
If you upload them to Our Story, you hand over permission to the picture app to share your snaps.
