Apple iPhone 8 rumours suggest much-anticipated gadget could be surprisingly cheap
THE new iPhone will be surprisingly cheap, gadget fans will be pleased to learn.
It's the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, and Apple is expected to bring out a real showstopper to celebrate.
Rumours that there will be three versions, including a premium £800 model, have been poo-pooed.
They may still have three phones to choose from, but it's unlikely to be as expensive as analysts have predicted.
Steven Milunovich, an analyst from global financial services giant UBS, claims that Apple's prices are expected to stay around the same price as the iPhone 7.
He said the flagship iPhone 8 will start from $850, which is around £682.
"Contrary to some perceptions, Apple prices quite competitively," Milunovich writes in a report seen by .
"Apple likes to position its entry-level products at the mid-market with ‘Pro/Plus’ products close to competitors at the high end."
Despite the lower starting price, it's likely that a higher storage tier will cost upwards of £800.
We won't know for sure what the iPhone 8 will look like when it's released, but that hasn't stopped a lot of rumours and gossip from doing the rounds.
