Nintendo’s Classic Mini NES console could earn you A LOT of money on eBay right now
Opportunistic sellers flogging the retro console for up to ten times its normal price
NINTENDO shocked its fans last week by discontinuing the retro Classic Mini NES console.
Now greedy opportunists are seeking to take advantage of other people's disappointment by selling the devices for up to ten times their original value.
The cool little console originally retailed for just £50 and was snapped up by fans.
It came with 30 classic games including Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Super Mario Bros.
But a few days after Nintendo said it would no longer be manufacturing the Mini NES, people who bought the console are now trying to make a quick buck by flogging them on eBay at a huge mark up.
"Play like a gamer, buy like a man," wrote one chancer who was trying to sell his console for £500.
"This is your chance to invest in a rare item".
He justified the price by saying it had been modified, or "modded", to play other retro games.
One Greek seller said buying his old console for £240 - almost five times the original price - represented a "great deal".
Another seller asking for merely four times the original price wrote: "These consoles are no longer being made.
"Grab yourself some history."
A similar thing happened when the Mini NES sold out after its initial release last year, as eBay sellers opted to sell the gadget at five times the original price.
