Alien hunters spot ‘ancient tree stump’ on Mars and claim it’s proof the Red Planet was once teeming with life
Strange object which looks like the 'petrified remnants of a Martian tree' sparks wild speculation about its origin
THE surface of Mars appears to be dead, red airless and barren.
But alien hunters are claiming to have spotted an "ancient tree stump" on the Red Planet which PROVES it was once teeming with life.
"This could be an ancient tree stump on Mars,"
He added: "It would be logical to assume that a variety of tree either existed or still exists on this enigmatic planet."
Nasa now believes Mars was once a wet planet with oceans and rivers just like Earth.
It's not yet clear whether life ever existed on the Red Planet, but that hasn't stopped alien hunters from making wild claims about lost extraterrestrial civilisations.
Waring once claimed to have spotted an "archway on Mars" and said it's proof that empire of midget Martians once ruled the Red Planet.
He also said Nasa had accidentally captured images of a crashed alien spacecraft and even a woman's body on Mars.

However, Nasa has been a little bit more measured in its claims about the lost history of Mars.
Last year, it spotted a small amount of liquid water on the Martian surface - and scientists have suggested more could be locked away beneath its surface.
The space agency is still unable to answer the question of whether we are alone in the universe.
If it was able to crack these unsolved space mysteries, it might finally be able to discover whether aliens exist in our universe.
