These YouTube channels have amassed a staggering following and there are some who you wouldn't even recognise in the street

AS TV gets increasingly "old school" people are heading online for their entertainment, often following the big names on YouTube.

Here are the ten biggest of the lot, the ten most influential people on YouTube, each commanding audiences of millions.

Chilean YouTuber German Garmendia - A.K.A. HolaSoyGerman - has more than 34 million followers and is a jack of all trades, creating comedy videos, gaming vlogs and music videos.

Ed Sheeran releases banger after banger, so it shouldn't come as a shock that he's got a huge following online.

The English singer has a staggering 35 million subscribers, with Shape of You and Thinking Out Loud videos both getting over a billion views.

With 35 million subscribers, the channel is the second most watched in India.

From videos from featuring WWE Superstars and backstage fallout from live shows, this official channel has a whopping 36 million subscribers.

American sports channel Dude Perfect features twins Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney, who are all former high school basketball players.

Their antics have racked up billions of views and 28 million subscribers thanks to their trick shots and stunts put together with music.

His biggest hitters are Sorry (2.9 billion view), What Do You Mean (1.8 billion) and Baby (1.8 billion).

His many fans flock to watch his creations on his YouTube channel, which has racked up 42 million subscribers.

Indian music company T-Series, known for its Bollywood music soundtracks, dominates on YouTube with a whopping 70 million subscribers.

The popular channel's top three songs all boast over 300 million views each.

Swedish vlogger Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg is virtually untouchable at the top of the list with a staggering 70.4 million subscribers.

The YouTuber is the biggest in the business posting funny chats to camera, gaming videos and challenges.

The influencer recently  joined forces with other YouTube stars to fight an advertising policy change that could ‘tear the site apart’.
